Waverly Hall United Methodist Church


     The Rev. Alan Barrett grew up in South Georgia and was a "preacher's kid".  Alan received his

B.A. at Asbury University in Kentucky where he met his wife Beth.  After receiving his Master of Divinity degree from  Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky, Alan and Beth moved to Macon, Georgia where he served as Associate Pastor at Riverside United Methodist Church.  Alan and Beth later moved to Chicago area where Alan served as a teaching fellow under Dr. Robert Coleman and received a Master of Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois.

     Alan is an ordained elder in the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church and has served at Hamilton United Methodist Church in Hamilton, Georgia and Asbury United Methodist Church in Columbus Georgia before coming to Waverly Hall United Methodist Church.

     Alan and Beth have three adult children, plus a daughter in law.  Elizabeth Barrett , Tennessee.  Stacy Barrett, Pine Mountain, Georgia and Andrew Barrett and wife Amanda, Fortson, Georgia.
